Volunteering and Service Initiatives

Seamless Love

In the midst of the pandemic -- while activities were canceled and school was strictly remote, I decided to use my extra time to make a difference. I began a charity sewing business, with the goal of making dresses for girls around the world.

After making several dresses to donate, I received requests to sell dresses to friends and family. In order to remain charitable, I made and donate a dress for each dress I sell. To date, I have donated more than 30 dresses.

Paradise Equestrian Therapy Center

As part of the C Club service organization, I volunteered to work with children attending the Paradise Equestrian Therapy Center, located in Charleston, Illinois.

2019, 2021

Catholic Heart Work Camp

Catholic Heart Work Camp is a week-long service camp that provides volunteer efforts to communities throughout the country. Serving in Nashville in 2019 and Kansas City in 2021, I was responsible for painting lockers and classrooms at a school, painting at a pregnancy care center, landscaping and outdoor cleanup, tree limb removal, lunch coordination for volunteers and other activities.

Special Olympics

As a Special Olympics volunteer at Eastern Illinois University, I provided face painting for attendees.

Volunteer Dance Instructor

Coordinating with the Creative Kids director, I choreographed and taught a four-week preschool dance clinic that focused on movement and music.

Winter 2020

Wreaths Across America

Volunteering at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, I placed wreaths on headstones before Christmas and then removed holiday decorations and cleaned a portion of the cemetery after the holidays.

Hope Notes and Cards for Hospitalized Children

In an effort to spread love and kindness, I periodically create cards to send to two organizations: Cards for Hospitalized Children (a national nonprofit) and St. Louis Area Foodbank (Hope Notes).

Camp New Hope

Located in Neoga, Illinois, Camp New Hope provides activities and education to people with intellectual disabilities. I volunteered to decorate the facility for the Christmas holiday season.

St. Charles Borromeo Vacation Bible School

As a Vacation Bible School volunteer, I helped coordinate and supervise activities for the students attending the summer camp.
